Now that Halo 3: ODST has dropped and most of you have undoubtedly spent some time in New Mombasa, what are your thoughts? I want to hear from all of you! Drop a line or several in the comments telling me what you think about the game. Don't forget to check out Travis Moses' review at Gamepro.
I love this new Halo game. Bungie really focused on not just repackaging Halo 3, they actually delivered a fresh new game from the Halo Universe. You have to play it in a new way or your gonna get crushed. I realized that after meleeing a Brute and having it barely flinch and then smack me about 20 yards back. The campaign is excellent but its not a surprise that Bungie can tell a great story and they manage to do it in a new way. The characters are a great addition to the cast we already have. Mickey is good stuff. Funny guy indeed.
Firefight is almost too much! The points that keep flying up on the screen make you instantly addicted. I love planning out our teams strategy before the action arrives. I'm gonna be playin Firefight for along time. Only thing that dissapointed me was that there is no matchmaking for Firefight. I love playin with my buddies but they aren't always on when I am and having a random group to team up with is an exciting way to start a match. You never know who you are going to find chemistry with!
All in all a great Halo game. If you love Halo, you need to have this game!
very ausome game! the designers and cretors did an amazeing job, I cannot stop playing this game! i love the cool mystery and dark theme, the characters are very cool and ausome looking and have great personalitys like romeo with his attitude. All and all if you get this game you probably arent going to need another game for a long time. You will not get bored there are many challenges, achievements and missions to go through. i think this game on a scale 1-10 this game is a 9 or 10! good job bungie, thumbs up! this is a great game!
To put it simply... AWESOME. I mean, I'm not particularly happy with how the ODSTs throw grenades, sorta at a higher angle than normal... But it's understandable, considering the Master Chief has a stronger arm and can throw further. I thought the campaign was somewhat short, but the Firefight will leave hours of challenge for me. XD 200k points is NOT easy to get, and it's tough even on Easy mode... I need to practice more. Overall, I loved the silenced pistol most. Headshots are fun!
Probably, the biggest complaint I have is about turrets. I thought only a fully-armored Spartan was strong enough to rip a turret from its base, as I read somewhere that they were the only ones strong enough to even lift it. Well, when I saw that ODST characters could do the same, I actually freaked out a bit and said, "That's not how it's done Bungie!!!" But, I see it makes it a lot easier to kill things when you're carrying a heavy turret. XD
I just need a little more practice is all, and then the game should be a lot better for me. lol It's definitely a unique challenge when placed side-by-side with Halo 3...
