This week I start talking about the Banshee's combat capabilities.

Like I mentioned last week, the Banshee is vulnerable to anti-aircraft fire due to how low it flies. The safest and most effective way to use the vehicle in combat situations is to use hit and run tactics.

In the single player campaign, whenever you see a Banshee in action, it's rarely alone. Pilots fly in packs, which greatly increases the vehicle's effectiveness.

Although the vehicle's plasma cannons are considered light plasma cannons, their bolts can take out a Spartan in just a few hits. A pilot can even destroy lightly armored vehicles such as the Warthog with around five seconds of continuous fire and heavier vehicles like the Wraith in under ten seconds. Don't let the "light moniker" fool you. These plasma cannons can definitely do some damage.

The Banshee's secondary weapon - the fuel rod cannon - is even more devastating. Light vehicles can be taken out in one hit and heavy vehicles are made short work of in a matter of seconds, especially if using the plasma cannon and fuel rod cannon in conjunction. I won't even say what it does to single infantry units. It isn't pretty.
