At the San Diego Comic-Con today, Microsoft announced Halo Legends - an upcoming anime project set within the world of Halo.

Shinji Aramaki, the director of Appleseed and Appleseed EX Machina, both critically acclaimed anime films, will lend his expertise to the project, as will Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii. The project will be a series of shorts set within the Halo universe at different times and feature different characters. The creators and studios behind The Animatrix, Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, and Cowboy Bebop are also involved.

The complete collection will be distributed by Warner Home Video, but pricing and details are yet unknown. However, a preview of certain episodes will debut this Fall on Xbox Live through a feature called Halo Waypoint, which Microsoft claims will be a new destination for Halo fans. It will feature all sorts of Halo content, like podcasts, videos, and more. It will also provide Halo gamers a new challenge with a new career system and player rankings "tied to both in-game and out-of-game accomplishments related to Halo."

I have no idea what that could mean, but I hope it's awesome.

Triller

I have never been a huge fan of anime characters. I love how they do armour and machines, and the crazy storylines they have but how they create people is almost too unreal for me. Good thing Master Chief is in full armour at all times. He must be one pale dude at this point. Im excited for this project and I can't wait to see how I can get acheivements outside of the game for Halo Waypoint.
