Bungie could use Microsoft's motion-sensing Project Natal with next year's Halo: Reach.
Halo 3: ODST, which hits this fall, is already slightly breaking the Halo mold by featuring open world exploration and good old fashioned detective work, as players try to find out what happened to the rest of the ODST team. Players can head to specific areas in the game to trigger missions.
Halo: Reach could change it up even further by using Project Natal, something studio head Harold Ryan thinks could happen.
In exactly what capacity could they use Natal for? The demos for Burnout Paradise with Natal seemed pretty cool, so I imagine tearin' around in a Warthog could be a lot of fun.
