Here's this week's Bungie Watch, a day late and a dollar short (whatever that means).
Did you know that you can play as Sgt. Johnson in Firefight mode as a pre-order bonus?!?!?
More than likely, you did know that. Apparently there was some worry over whether or not overseas gamers would be able to get the bonus, so here's a list of confirmed participating retailers:
* France: GAME, FNAC, JV&Co, Virgin, Amazon, Pixmania, Cdiscount, Rue du Commerce
* Germany: Amazon and Gamestop
* Italy: Gamestop
* UK: Game, Gamestation, Amazon, Play
This doesn't mean that other places won't be carrying the bonus, but you just confirm with them before you pay.
Bungie day is coming up (July 7th) and Urk hints at what's to come with the words Shishka, ballerina outfit, and webcam. I'm sold.
Last week we got a look at the Firefight map Security Zone; this week we look at Crater (Night), a smaller, darker map.
If you head over to the update, you can check out an analysis from Urk as well as a QA with the design director. There's also a fan-made version of Crater made with the Forge editor that you can queue up from the update.
On Monday, the render-to-video beta will receive an upgrade. Also, all existing videos in their collection will be deleted. Seriously! Back that stuff up!
The beta is now open to all Bungie Pro subscribers.
The Haloscreenshots.com contest winners have been notified. There will be no new contest this weekend. Sad face.
Speaking of Haloscreenshots.com, the folks over there were kind enough to send me a few samples, which showed up yesterday. I'll write up a nice little review and post it next week.
