Strategic Options, the Halo Wars DLC coming in the next few weeks, will add three new multiplayer modes to the popular RTS. Hit the jump for details.

Keepaway mode is the Halo Wars version of capture the flag. Teams will fight it out over free-roaming Forerunner Sentinels, with the first teams capturing three Sentinels being the winner.

In Reinforcement mode, all battle units come in waves, forcing players to adapt to this new element.

The description for Tug of War mode given in the press release isn't the clearest thing I've ever read.

"Tug of War Mode is all about having a stronger army than the opponent. Defeating enemies is essential, but success is determined by a combination of the army, buildings and resources left standing in the end."

The term "tug of war" obviously brings strength to mind, and they mentioned that right there in the description. But isn't having a stronger army the key to all modes?

The upcoming DLC will also add 100 achievement points, which can be earned in the new modes.
