Daniel Petric

Daniel Petric, then 16, was forbidden by his parents to play Halo 3. He snuck out and purchased a copy anyway, which his parents then took away from him. Petric than shot both of his parents, killing his mother.

Mark Petric, Daniel's father, took the game away from his son and put it in a lockbox, which also kept a 9mm handgun. Daniel Petric took the gun out of the box, approached his parents, and asked them to close their eyes because he had a surprise for them.

This is when Daniel Petric shot both of them in the head, killing his mother and wounding his father. Daniel Petric then handed the gun to his father; prosecutors say he was attempting to make it look like a murder-suicide. It was at this moment that Mark Petric's daughter and son-in-law arrived, fortunately stopping Daniel Petric from doing any more harm.

This is an awful tragedy that I hope the Petric family can overcome. As for Daniel Petric, I don't know what to say. I hope he gets both the punishment he deserves and ultimately the help he needs.

You cant blame a game for someone who was crazy in the first place...he could have killed his parents for anything let alone halo 3.
