I apologize for the lateness in what is supposed to be a "Weapon Wednesday" article, but hopefully the popularity of this gun will somewhat make up for it. This week I tackle the all-powerful, trusty ol' boomstick, the shotgun. The M90 Shotgun, to be exact.
The shotgun is the perfect close-quarters firearm. The M90 can hold 12 Soellkraft 8 Gauge Shells at once and fire them off at 1.5 shells per second. It's accuracy is low and anything beyond 40 meters won't get the full impact of the blast but at close range its power is rivaled only by melee weapons like the gravity hammer and energy sword. The Mauler is the only weapon that comes close to rivaling it, due to the fact that the powerful pistols can be dual wielded.
The shotgun's sheer power makes it ideal for killing the flood. It can also send a warthog out of control if the warthog is shot in the right place. You can also take out a warthog driver in one hit, depending on how fast you can aim.
A popular tactic with the shotgun is to shoot once to take down an enemy's shield and then follow up with a melee attack to finish them off.
Brutes are capable of wielding a shotgun with one hand, probably because of their brute strength. Sorry, I had to take that one.
