Last week I gave you my top five UNSC weapons. The same rules apply for my Covenant list. I took into consideration both the weapon's effectiveness and just how damn cool is is. Again, if you don't agree with my list, feel free to say so, just keep it civil.
And with that, I give you the top five Covenant weapons.
5. Needler
Whaaaat? I know, I know. This is more out of pity than anything. The guys at Bungie - bless their souls - have been trying to get this thing right since the original Halo. And while it's still far from perfect, it's a lot better than any of the previous incarnations. Plus, there's nothing more humiliating then getting killed with pink needles.
4. Beam Rifle
I know that I'm going to get flak for this, only because I didn't put the Marine rifle on my UNSC list. While, I love the standard sniper rifle, I just don't find it as awesome as the Covenant beam rifle. Not to mention the beam rifle has less recoil and is a lot quieter, making it ideal for stealth. However, it does leave a lasting vapor trail, so you'll to need to shoot and move.
3. Carbine
The carbine is just all around awesome. If wielded properly, it's powerful enough to turn the tide of battle. It can zoom in, shoot relatively fast, and hold up to 90 rounds. And unlike other Covenant weaponry, the carbine doesn't overheat. To top it all off, the carbine can act as both an excellent short range weapon as well as a decent long range weapon.
2. Plasma Grenade
There isn't a whole to say about the plasma grenade because, well, it's a grenade. But I will say this: there is no better feeling known to man than sticking a poor shmuck with one of these bad boys. Seriously, the feeling that you get from planting one of these on some unsuspecting victim's back, or better yet, on the back of some sap's warthog is a feeling that can't be described with words.
1. Plasma Sword
Just like when I listed the Spartan Laser as the number one UNSC weapon, this should come as no surprise. Ever since it became wieldable in Halo 2, the plasma sword has made for some badass stealth kills. Hell, even when you're not sneaking around, lunging at folks with sword in hand is enough to make a hardened Spartan wet his armor. Just like how the Spartan Laser is unstoppable at a distance, the plasma sword dominates close combat.
